John is happy because he found a very nice website with all the necessary details of the Barcelona cruise terminal. http://www.barcelona-tourist-guide.com/en/transport/barcelona-cruise-port.html We know Barcelona a little from a previous visit by train and it is a very beautiful city especially by the revitalised waterfront. We want to spend a relaxing day there between cruises so we're glad to find that the port is within easy reach of the centre. Furthermore it is not a long taxi ride from the airport so Day 1 should be very relaxing. Cruise line check-in is, in our experiences so far in Hawaii, Civitavecchia, Limassol, Venice and Fort Lauderdale, very much easier and pleasant than airline check-in. Heck, I'm already beginning to relax. Shame I have to get rid of chesty cold before we travel.

If you would like to sample magnificent Mediterranean cuisine (albeit at a price)located within a few hundred yards of the port, then consider the Torre D'Alta Mar. The restaurant is located atop one of the cable car towers and provides magnificent views of both the port and Barcelona itself.
